"As I moved into a new place in early 2016, these tracks came into existence in a transition period. One part of the EP was already made at the old flat, the other one just when I moved in. To work in a new room gave me the chance to quit former habits and improve my own skills. Since recently I’ve been trying to use my DAW Software as a recording system. Most things are recorded live. It helps me to stay focused on the audio, leaving more space for creativity rather than spending time in front of an arrangement page. I often record random noises outside or at home that I edit and use as a background in my tracks. Building up an idea around the atmosphere of these recordings, no matter if it’s a kind of composed house track or just a raw and simple jam, guides me to find a unique vibe or swingy groove. I love when tracks are telling a story, caused by harmonies or chords. In combination with analog and digital sounds it’s a daily clinch to receive the right sound color i’m looking for."
