Welcoming Baltimore's own Tracey Cooper, bringing his signature blend of deep house and jacking rhythms to the Lab as its newest member. A seasoned beat maker with roots that stretch across some of underground house music's most respected labels-Greenskeepers Music, Greenhouse, Oomph Recordings, Phobic Music, Delve Deeper, Nordic Trax, and Blockhead-Cooper has been steadily carving out his lane with a sound that hits hard in the club and smoulders in the lounge.
Known for his sporadic but impactful releases, Tracey resurfaces every few years with something fresh, and this next chapter is no exception. His new EP is a heady mix of smoked-out textures and percussive drive-pure, unfiltered dance floor pressure.
With his addition to the Lab, Cooper is stepping into a new phase-more focused, more experimental, and more relentless than ever.
This four-tracker unfolds like a journey:
'Black Infinity' opens with a powerful, deep, rolling bassline that doesn't just anchor the groove-it sets the tone for the EP's deeper message. It's bold, hypnotic, and full of purpose.
'New World' follows as the mid-balance, a jazzy transition track that shifts the energy while keeping the swing alive-an interlude of movement and clarity.
'There Was David' dives deep into pure underground territory. The transfer has happened; the vibe is raw, stripped, and heady-Tracey in full form.
Finally, the Lab's head force Ivaylo steps in with a remix of 'New World,' reimagining it as the come-down and come-through. A more stripped-down, trancier version, it opens the curtain after David's acid trip and reveals the new new world-dreamier, yet just as grounded.
This release marks Cooper's arrival to the Lab roster-and a reminder that when he reappears, it's always with purpose.
Production: Tracey Cooper
Additional mixdown: Ivaylo
Mastering: Blackhead studio, Berlin
