Special Closing Tracks - a profound exploration of vulnerability through electronic music. Blurring the lines between self-sufficiency and longing, this collection is designed with the idea of space in mind, using minimal pitched percussion, soft yet saturated synths and deep, resonant basslines complemented by emotional vocoder leitmotifs. Each track is built to breathe, capturing fleeting emotions in raw, introspective soundscapes.
Tracklist :
sEmoa - ufo
sEmoa - I remind myself
sEmoa - stay with me
sEmoa - sometimes things don't work out
Words from the artist :
' I've been working a lot on defining my sound and especially used music as a way to journal my daily life.
It's kind of became like a ritual, experiencing the world and then transmuting those feelings into something beautiful, a way of taking my inner existence and creating a sense of definition through sound. It's become a place to be vulnerable in and allow that side to exist fearlessly. I feel that in our day to day, we build so many walls and, fairly, we have to protect our energy, but it's often the moments of vulnerability that bring the best out of us. These tracks speak about transformation and self acceptance, vulnerability, disappointment and hope.
Each track has its own kind of significance, every lyric is a heartfelt monologue, a daily stim, something I tell myself to keep going. The messages might be a bit blue, sad or even romantic in tone, but the tracks themselves are empowering and self-sufficient. Late stage capitalism, war, gender and racial inequalities, ableism, discrimination of any kind are prevalent in our times, so I feel many of us might need that little something to keep us going, or to keep us from going insane.
I hope this music achieves that - and I feel these heartfelt notes land best at the closing bit of a set. That moment on the dancefloor when the energy shifts, sounds become warmer, softer, you look with satisfaction through the crowd, hug your mates, kiss your lover, take one last hit. You've had a good run. '
