MYR & Taylor Unveil a New Tech House 3 Tracker : Complete with stellar remixes by Rob Pearson and Mr. D !
Hailing from Leeds, the vibrant northern hub of the UK, MYR, known to friends as Tom, has made a significant mark in the underground house music scene. Under his alias MYR, Tom has released a series of standout tracks on respected labels such as Jambutek Recordings, Amongst Others, Midnight Social Recordings, and Whoyostro. Each release has demonstrated his growing expertise and creativity within the genre, steadily establishing him as a name to watch. More recently, MYR has evolved into the celebrated artist Peaky Beats, making waves in the UK's burgeoning 140 BPM garage scene. However, this collection takes us back to his roots in tech house, showcasing some of his finest works produced during his tenure at White Noise Studio in Leeds between 2016 and 2018. During this formative period, Tom honed his craft, immersing himself in the intricacies of house music production, mastering both analogue and digital tools, and developing a signature sound that melds past influences with cutting-edge hardware experimentation.
This release is a reflection of that journey, highlighting tracks that capture the raw essence of MYR's tech house explorations. At the same time, it celebrates his continued evolution, with remixes from some of the most respected names in the scene.
Collaborating Talent
Taylor Hall, full name Taylor Hall, has been an integral part of MYR's creative process, contributing her distinctive vocal style to several of his releases. Most notably, her evocative voice graced the acclaimed single Through The Darkness on Misplaced Recordings. Their partnership has blossomed over the years, resulting in a series of captivating tracks, and this collection is no exception but sees Taylor on co production rather than vocals. Featuring three of their original collaborations, the release promises to take listeners on an immersive auditory experience.
In addition to these original cuts, the release also includes two brand-new remixes. Rob Pearson, the head of Evasive Records and a pioneering figure in the tech house scene, delivers a fresh interpretation of Capture. Pearson's remix adds a new dimension to the track, layering intricate rhythms and deep grooves. Also featured is the enigmatic producer Mr. D, making his Evasive Records debut with a striking remix of In My Head, bringing his unique and mysterious sound to the forefront.
