For our final release for 2024 Bedfunk are pleased to welcome another new artist the label. Introducing Dre Flex, a spoken word artist of Jamaica decent, born and raised in London. Dre Flex grew up on the streets of London, but his heart was always in JA. Following the vibes of the big Jamaican and UK sound systems like Saxon studio, Sir Coxsone, Bodyguard, Stone Love, Jah Shaka & Studio 1. He has that authentic Jam down slang tang. Dre Flex first teamed up with Pat Bedeau as the voice of the Door Of No Return, which was released on DJ Spen's Quantize label and included a remix from label heads DJ Spen himself and Thomas Davis.

Pat and Dre have a new release called Nature is the Way, another track penned by Pat and delivered by Dre Flex in his imitable style. This track features all the elements Pat holds dear. Raising his 3 young girls with his wife, tending to his plants and making the best music and growing his catalogue. This one has all the elements you have come to expect in Pat's productions. Slamming drums with those skippy beats out of the gate, setting the energy for the track. Driving chord stabs are added to keep that energy flowing, then a big ragga bass line brings the fire. Add Dre Flex's vocals and you have a real dance floor bomb. This one has been tested on many a dance floors and the reaction is always the same. Like a breath of fresh air, this track straddles both soulful and deep house and is perfect for that late night roller that the dancers just love to jump on. It's a real journey with an underlying message that we all need to slow down and get back the basics, a more holistic balance with nature.
