The story behind it all stems from a conversation between Tommy Hogunz and Dj Dennis one night in Philadelphia, outside one of the Worship Recordings' Shakedown parties. The discussion involved talking about all the great things that 'This City' had to offer its people. The music, the art, the DJs, the producers, the dancers, the grit of the streets, the glow of the night lit buildings that towered over the city below...all of it was something that they both spoke to as being precious to them. The conversation went in the direction of how many other cities they visited, where new promoters, artists, and dancers showed them just how proud they were of their city. People hold their culture close to their hearts, and when they are involved in a movement where people gather to maximize a vibe that is their own, they want to talk about it... share it... exclaim it!! We took it a step further, and decided to make these songs for everyone who is truly proud of where they live, so they can boast loudly about 'This City'.
