Schlepp Geist delivers the ‘Run' EP on When We Dip XYZ. Throughout the 4-tracker, the Leipzig producer adopts a maximalist attitude to sound with thumping kicks, mesmerizing vocals layers and a fine balance between ominous ambiences and fast-paced melodies.

‘Run' starts things off as the deep groove and cheerful lead slowly gets taken over by a forbidding siren. The break makes way for a dirty, over the top bassline sure to cause damage on dancefloors worldwide.

‘Chord Society' is next, as the dynamic groove led by the ad-lib, cowbell and shaker introduces a grim reese bass. The ever-building tension of the arp is released in quick bursts by the dynamic chord progression.

On ‘Reel Luv', the ravey chord stabs put the harmonic touch to the chaotic groove comprised of vocal chops, ensemble of hi-hats and complementary percussions. The vocal ‘Cause it's reel luv' is repeated over and over, swimming in and out of the track.

Keeping the same sonic palette as the previous tunes, ‘Squire' proves a fitting conclusion. The breaky groove recedes halfway through, letting the bass take the center stage and develop into a tale of epic proportions.
