Art has been wholly commodified. It is now just a resource. Something to consume. It's worth, dictated by how much can be extracted from it. Our culture is being taken, reshaped and sold back to us. This is nothing new but now even counter culture is being curated, moulded and seeded by platforms that dictate its structure, ultimately leading to its assimilation into the mainstream. This pervasive market place now driving all aspects of artistic discourse.
The underground, a hot bed for innovation and the organic push back against the prevailing norms, lies dormant. It's time we woke it up.
