‘Sun Circles’ is a song of empowerment that Belgian DJ / producer Gratts penned for his two sons. After its acclaimed release last year, a DJ gig with Adelaide’s drummer, bandleader and producer Alexander Flood on percussion led to the pair talking music. Alexander operates on the verge of jazz and contemporary electronics so Gratts asked if he'd be up for recording a fresh remake of ‘Sun Circles’ with a band of his choice. Presenting the quintet: Alexander Flood (drums, production), Kara Manansala (vocals), Jack Strempel (keys), Dylan Paul (bass) and Tom Noonan (flute). The result is a gorgeously fresh and energetic, breezy take on the original. On the B-side, legendary American composer John Beltran turns in a balearic meets bossa incarnation of the original ‘Sun Circles’.
