We are very excited to welcome Klahrk to the fold on ACEN059. The London-based artist & founder of Ware Collective follows up releases with the likes of Activia Benz, Genot Centre and SFX. On the Z2 EP, he delivers four atmospheric slow-fast club cuts, exploring the lowest depths of the frequency spectrum.
The title track opens proceedings with sonic interference, cavernous percussion and deep bass giving way to kicks dictating a tough, chugging rhythm. The track shapeshifts with inventive percussive work and glitched-out noise - pitched-down snares hammering down amongst stammering inhuman voices and hyperspeed hi-hats.
Interference begins with phasing sci-fi percussion before propelling into a high-intensity percussive work-out. Jackhammer noise builds the track’s intensity to a fever pitch whilst chopped vocal samples inject a dancefloor energy into the mechanised atmosphere.
Got2Be kicks off the second half of the release with eerie sub work and sound design before a pitched-down vocal ushers in an apocalyptic low-slung groove. The vocal sample elaborates further in an ominous breakdown before reaching out into a massive kick-driven rhythm.
On the closing track, Klarhk invites Buenos Aires-based artist Kattie to collaborate on On The Circuit. A frenzied, arpeggiated synth dances amongst pummeling drums and syncopated subs, culminating in moments to cause mayhem in the dance.
