Warm summer grit depicting a true twist of garage and house are what you can look forward to with this heavily swung uplifting EP from London based producer 'Charlie Curtin'. 'Brean EP' is sure to turn heads on Friday, 22nd of September 2023 when Charlie's distinct play on sound surpasses the industry's huge array of musical talent.
'Charlie Curtin' has delivered a real tropical vibe with his lead track 'Brean', producing a real live feel with its saxophone lead whilst also injecting synthetic sounds climaxing in short sharp jabs that lead to its subtle French style bassline. Named after a local beach, 'Brean' was designed to evoke a 'warm summer feel' with its sweet, head-in-the-clouds feel and beatific flourishes that Charlie drew inspiration from when watching the sun go down in his studio window.
'Need You' presents a swinging, funky, rolling rhythm that begins in a suspiciously house-like manner, but demonstrates its allegiance to garage with the introduction of a rumbling bassline, hi-hats, and drums so skippy they'd put a kangaroo to shame. The track bridges the gap between garage and deep house, utilizing instantly noticeable throwback organ chords and super intricate drum arrangements, all layered into a gritty, almost Reese like synth slides, fusing the old and new with a serious level of majesty.
DESIGN_ Records are proud to showcase 'Charlie Curtin's' true passion and talent with this 10/10 release.
