Born and raised in Tokyo, Japan, R-04 began to study classical piano at the age of 6. When inspired by Detroit Techno music at a rave held in Japan, R-04 started to compose his own electronic music with his first synthesizer in 1999. Still enjoying jazzy piano solo pieces on the grand piano, R-04's music sometimes is something between jazz and techno. In 2009, R-04's official first singles "Gazing at the Moon" and "Chaser EP" were released. Now R-04's music is supported by various artists around the world.
