Fresh for 2013, Tenerife’s hottest property Roberto Palmero drops his latest weapon via the ever-dependable Ladies & Gentlemen imprint.
The Berlin label was set up by the inimitable Phonique in 2007, and has been releasing underground house sounds of a consistently high quality ever since. Roberto Palmero joins the fray with his ‘Come Back You Know EP’ - a tough and funky excursion into dance floor dynamics.
Roberto cut his teeth at home in Spain, and has a string of high profile appearances behind him as a DJ in Miami, Ibiza and Barcelona. With a long list of credits on releases from numerous European labels, the young producer has also found time to start his own label - Pura Music - an outlet for his distinctive take on tech and deep house.
‘Come Back You Know’ will move any dance floor, its infection baseline is impossible to resist. Phonique’s remix maintains the groove but accentuates the 90s style rave synths for full effect.
‘Bragas Love and Die’ slows the tempo down to 117BPM for a sleazy workout perfect for developing a mood early on in a set – a submerged vocal sits above a wicked synth bass sure to do damage on larger systems.
Two essential remixes provide different angles on the track courtesy of Brazilian up-and-comer Diehl. The Sine remix in a deep, sunny rework that will work wonders in the open air, while Diehl‘s Moog version is a tougher proposition for the club.
