Being

Savile

Amadeus
AMA001 | 2012-02-22
Gianpaolo "Savile" Dieli, a Chicago bred artist who finds himself struck by the beauties of everyday subtleties and the free forms of electronic music, has undoubtedly been an instrumental part in the formation of the Amadeus imprint. His debut EP, Being, finds itself as the first release from the collective outlet, a four track release accompanied by a remix from Leeds-based forward thinker Ewan Smith.
Opener and title track, "Being" orchestrates the release through a motif filtered beneath chugging percussive work, an enigmatic amusement of atmospheric pads, repetitive vocals, and an overall pursuit of escapism. "Being" embodies the "against-the-mold" attitude behind the EP, only to be reinterpreted by A-side backing "Still Smiling" a hauntingly reminiscent reworking of an early Motown group's euphoric vocals. On the flip you will find yourself held by the luminescence of "Fun World" an equally submissive original equipped with a disorienting vocal excerpt and crisp synth work.
Being is not for the simple-minded, the benighted, nor the average club goer. Being, however, is a conceptional record compiled through months of fine tuning, detachment, and unsurpassed passion.
