Polish DJ and producer Deryk Rossen returns to Piston Recordings with another solid three tracker titled ‘Route EP’. This one follows his Summer 2022 debut with the label ‘Never Say Never EP’ and will no doubt gain as much support. An electronic music lover from a young age, Deryk is evolving his sound with every release he has. He finds himself connecting with House, Deep House and Tech House, blurring the lines in between. He’s seen releases on several labels including Shelving Music, RH2, Kore Music, Groove Tom Records, Club Session and more. Great to see him back once again.

The title track, ‘Route’ gets us underway with a fresh, vibrant groove which is driven by a tight drum section and infectious rhythmic percussions. A warm, plucky bass keeps the hips swaying as delicate melodics peek through. The groove is accented with cool stabs and smooth vocal shots which makes it the perfect fodder for any dancefloor. ‘Soft Landing’ is up next, offering a slice of garage inspired deep house thanks to short, sharp synths and basses combining beautifully. The groove is tight, complimented with flurries of percussion and a solid kick. Subtle vocal is used to perfection, adding a little bit of spice on this top-notch joint. ‘Pulse’ concludes the release, delivering a wonderfully rich, warm and classy groove thanks to subtle melodies and that velvet smooth bassline. Airy pads and well-placed chords create a nice vibe which will easily translate to the floor. An absolute must have, no doubt.
