Bounce House Recordings turns 30 EPs deep with Nottingham's Kinky Movement grabbing the headlines on this release. Andy Mcloughlin, Lee Eden and John Symms (aka Kinky Movement) team up with vocalist Astral T for an EP loaded with 'lots of funk and soul.
Kinky Movement have been at the forefront of the famous "Nottingham Sound" for much of the past decade. They have released tracks on a number of fine Imprints (Myna, So Sound and Drop Music to name a few), and Bounce House is super-pleased to add them to the family.
Astral T, based in The Midlands, UK, has caught the attention of many house labels and producers in the past 5 years with her singing and songwriting skills. She is definitely a rising talent and the growing list of artists she has collaborated with confirms it.
The EP title track "Hedonistic" turned our heads immediately with its clever jazzy, swing beat and Astral T's lovely voice. The replay remix of "Hedonistic" turns up the energy on the dance floor with its thumping groove and baseline.
The boys drop the bpm down to the 115 mark on "Metafunk" for an infectiously deep, soulful and instrumental groove. Their replay remix sees them getting back to their signature 4 on the floor funky style. DK Watts moves "Metafunk" more on the deeper tip with his SBK remix.
