Room co-founder BLANKA makes an impressive comeback to the imprint, staying true to her clean, hypnotic style and this time accompanied by two fellow female Techno artists on remix duties: the up-and-coming Marsch and Croatian mainstay Insolate. On “7 Lives”, various evolving synthworks collide to deliver a heads down, hands up piece that’s perfect for those early tension building moments during a set. “Soul Seeker” offers a comparable result. Robot-like sounds move around before the percussive elements bring in mesmerising sounds along with them, making up an ideal driving weapon. When looking at the reworks, both Marsch and Insolate stamp their approaches on the original tracks from BLANKA. Adding deeper layers and her kinda tantalising voice sound shots while staying true to the original “7 Lives”, Marsch returns to Room Trax with yet another useful piece for DJ sets. This is also the case for Insolate’s effort on reediting ‘Soul Seeker”, with subtle percussion and a spellbinding effect that’s hard to beat, turning it into an excellent end to the EP.
