Pietro Nicosia, the Italian producer and multi-instrumentalist, involved in electronic music, ethnic music, and jazz, is back on AO to release 'Sobremar EP'a Cumbia style EP. Fascinated by groovy and polyrhythmic music and constantly studying new ways and moods to honour the great tradition of Latin Cumbia, Jazz, Afrobeat, Soul, Gospel and House Music, now Nicosia pays a tribute to Cumbia music. Throughout these 2 tracks, he builds a full rhythm section of percussion instruments as well as gaita flutes and maracas, with a full complement of backing vocals, using the Latin 'Alegre' style with offbeat rhythms and improvisation.
