ARKID is back on Souplex Records for his first solo EP, taking inspiration in the deep grooves of the minimal scene and the dreamy elements of the french deep house style. The whole EP is an ode to the medicinal herbs and is meant as much for dancefloor purposes, as it is for laid back puffing sessions.
The trip starts with Girl Scout Cookies, characterized by its floating pads and hypnotic vocal. In this track, ARKID is bringing together elements from various genres he takes inspiration from.
Rio Bravo take us back to our childhood memories with deep rhythms and stellar knocks, permeated by the mystic synth echoing during the whole song. The wisest will recognize the inspiration from a cult Japanese movie.
On Pink Death, ARKID shows us a darker side, with a heavy flangered sub bass, a heady melody and an uncompromising drum pattern.
To conclude the EP, the talented @dust-yard is on the remix duties, and delivers a powerful deep techno reinterpretation of the main track, perfectly suited for the late night moments.
