There are not too many House tracks that Speak Expressly to the World-altering COVID-19 pandemic that had Humankind trapped in their Homes unable to interact with the outside world. %u201CSummersB4%u201D reminisces a time when there was Freedom without Fear from %u201CInfectious Sweating%u201D, %u201CDroplets in the air, Sweat without a Care%u201D the female voice showcased here recollects; yet, it is now a cause for concern among the House music populace with the current reopening venues amid COVID-19 pandemic. Chunky multi-layered Percussions, a Myriad of subtle key sounds, over a mildly paced 4/4 kick support the Haunting Blunt Free verses. At the 4:48 mark, the track breaks down then goes into this Sweet Sax solo, very Hypnotic!
The references to two legendary NYC clubs in the line, %u201CThe Buttermilk Bottom and the Paradise Garage are nothing more than a Mirage%u201D is best described as a reaching out for a moment in time for those who were there and as of late Desperately trying to recapture the Spirit of Youth, Energy, and Vitality contained in those Venues. What is endearing is the Homage paid to the beloved Jersey House music patriots, Arnold %u201CBig A%u201D McPherson and DJ Hutch whom we lost, %u201CBig A%u201D in 2019 to Cancer and DJ Hutch due to COVID-19 in early 2020. These two giants contributed much to Jersey%u2019s House music scene and here in %u201CSummersB4%u201D their legacy is encapsulated%u2015so awesome! Mantree Records always has something up the sleeve, forward-thinking, always examining the world, and aptly express it in the House Music Vernacular.
