David Gtronic

Vatos Locos
VL014 | 2021-07-09
A body of work created and formed over the space of a year whilst in lockdown, David Gtronic's latest LP 'Seclusion' welcomes the arrival of a project steeped in rich textures and wide-reaching influences, and showcases a journey into the mind one of the most exciting names within house and minimal. A mainstay within Hectors' renowned Vatos Locos family, releasing as a string of EPs on the label and featuring across its global showcases, the Berlin-based DJ, producer, and label boss continues to see his stock rise as one of the most consistent talents within the scene.
Having launched his label Personality Disorder alongside Argentinian favourite Guti, the home of their two most recent collaborative albums, summer 2021 sees the Colombian artist deliver his first long-player on Vatos Locos, 'Seclusion'. Set to be released as a 3x 12' vinyl package later this summer, the album takes in a collection of tracks spanning a range of genres and soundscapes, featuring collaborations with a selection of carefully curated guest artists. Ahead of its release, late June offers up the first look into the project as Gtronic presents a three-track LP sampler, comprised of a fresh original alongside collaborations with Guti and David Berrie.
Solo cut 'Always Believe' opens the package as warping low-slung basslines go to work beneath shuffling percussion and infectious vocal iterations to offer up a murky and moody UK-influenced cut packed full of drive. Next up, title track 'Seclusion' alongside partner in crime Guti meanders down a warping path as twisting organic percussion meets bumping kicks and the warped vocals of Charlotte Carter, before adding New York's David Berrie to the mix for third track 'I Try' - a vibrant yet heady cut armed with rumbling sub-bass, dubby textures and freaky vocal snippets that lock your mind in a trance.
