Pfhin EP

SPD

Keysound

Keysound Recordings are proud to announce an SPD EP for the label. After many months of support for his swung dark garage creations on the Rinse FM Keysound show and even a b2b session before lockdown, SPD adds three tracks to the label’s canon.

While all falling into the twilight, swung UKG space, “Computerised Images” throws bleepy futuristic shadows. “East,” representing SPD’s base in that quadrant of London, is a flurry of moody arpeggios and muffled voices. “Pfhin” is an archetypal roller, with a restrained sense of calm and space, stretching out into the horizon.

SPD has enjoyed recent releases on Roska’s RKS, Koast’s Durkle Disco, Dimsum & started 2021 off with a vinyl release with Daffy on ec2a, the imprint started by a relative of - and in tribute to - one of Plastic People’s owners.

Originally focusing on the deeper side of bass music, recently he has been stripping back his production to focus on moodier club music, heavily influenced by early 2step/dubstep whilst incorporating other elements of other bass music such as hard drum, UK funky & broken techno. SPD has received support by J Fresh, Emerald Rose and Keysound. Track plays: Radio 1Xtra, Rinse FM, NTS & Pyro Radio. SPD hosts a regular monthly show on Subtle Radio.
