Hitting the summer season in fine fashion, Ziger's Eat My Hat imprint welcomes Axel Zambrano to the label for his debut EP. Although only 24 years old, the Argentinean artist has already made an impact on the progressive music scene. As a DJ he has shared the stage with Ezequiel Arias, Matias Chilano, Berni Turletti, Julian Nates and Fabri López at some of his country's most highly regarded venues. While as a producer, Axel lays claim to an impressive discography highlighted by releases on Dopamine White, Droid9, Freegrant Music and Strangers Beats. Now continuing what has been a prolific year, Axel debuts on Eat My Hat with a two-track showcase entitled ‘Capsule'.

Beginning with the title selection Axel crafts an electric slice of progressive house that's nicely dialled for peak time play. Smooth and energetic throughout, it carries a darker hypnotic sensibility at the outset. Moving through layers of detailed percussion, cutting edge effects and astral overlays, the first act perfectly sets the stage for a memorable break. Shifting into more emotive territory, the centrepiece elevates mood through layers of glowing pads, while a bed of crunchy electronics and rolling percussion provides a bridge into an invigorating finale.

The release concludes with the darker, cross over vibes of ‘Stick'. Played out over seven minutes, it's machine gun style groove, crunchy rhythms and devilish effects work beautifully together. Its symphonic top line is likely it's strongest suit however, subtly adding emotional touches and spine-tingling moments as the first act evolves, before a timely break advances the narrative through tasteful modulation, as the beats drop for a driving finale. It rounds out a huge Eat My Hat debut for Axel Zambrano, who continues to have a breakout year. Highly recommended.
