"Evolve" presents the culmination of the musical evolution of Uzul. From his debut on machines in Kaly Live Dub (PIAS / JFX), passing by beatmaker in the breakbeat & techno duo Hybrid Sound System (Sounds Around) then in the electro hiphop group Uzulprod (Expressillon), Uzul reveals today his live solo project Techno & Bassmusic.

After releasing several vinyl EPs on Expressillon (Spiral tribes, Interlope…) and IOT Records, then several digital EPs on Elastica records (IT) Future Followers (UK), Mallabel records (USA) and ODG (FR), Uzul unveils “EVOLVE »His first solo album, fruit of the collaboration with Jarring Effects.

This opus is a musical cocktail bringing together the different musical styles that may have influenced Uzul during his career. Dub, acid techno, dubstep, are found subtly mixed in this singular Techno & Bassmusic project.

Immersed and cut off from today's tumultuous world, the listener arrives in an aquatic musical universe and explores its abysmal melodic depths. A real dropout ...

Uzul sound mixing specialist manages to create an evolving and diversified musical panorama.
A world apart…

The introduction "Octopus" immediately takes us underwater, with its heady sonar and enchanting theme drowned in the bubbles of a scuba diver.

Then "Aquatic" launches the album. The dub atmosphere brought by the synares à la Sly & Robbie Shakespeare and the skanks mix with techno colors, all supported by a groove and glitchy bass.

"Nemo" brings a more Uk bass color with its catchy groove, but also a pop side with its electronica theme. A smooth ride in a mysterious world.

Then the title "Water for life" launches the more techno part of EVOLVE.
An evolving and melodic track, at times taking on an "English-style" club tint and also reminiscent of the sound system dub culture with the chanted voices, the skanks and the big bass line.

"Allo" confirms the techno style with its present beat and electronic sounds. A resolutely acid track but also very groove with its rhythm and its bass close to the UK bass. all ending with a big dubstep bass line. A title at the crossroads of several styles for the listener's happiness.

"Sea Horse" continues the techno exploration, with its chilly vibe and hypnotic Tb303 synthesizer ensemble. An electronic wind tunnel and metallic sounds evolve on this progressive and original track.

"Ultra Abyssal" this time the musical direction is techno & deep dubstep. A groove and breaked track, with vocal loops and a Rhodes keyboard theme bringing the melodies in this very rhythmic track! A track intended to ignite the dance floors.

"Subtle" with a deep dubstep style and electro triphop sounds, makes perfect sense when listening to the lyrics. "I'm Feeling good" is the message Uzul wants to get across. Faced with the torments of life, he prefers to keep hope. A melancholy and sensitive track, feelings amplified by the dreamlike theme played by Bernard Pelmoine (First keyboardist of Kaly live dub) invited for the occasion. A beautiful electronic ballad.

"Diving" the album’s most dub track: a nod from Uzul to his background as a Jamaican music fan. The electronic atmosphere, in the spirit of Bill Laswell, brought by a big bass line and hypnotic percussions punctuating this track which should satisfy fans of the genre.

“Music is a game” is a dedication to the rave movement in which Uzul participated. This techno title is tempered by the melodica reggae theme, performed by Lion (musician of the group "Dub empire"). A title that gradually intensifies within this musical clash!

"Oceans" closes the album with its very hovering dub triphop side reminiscent of the productions of the Rythm & sound label. A smooth conclusion.

"Evolve" is therefore proof that in music we can break out of the boxes and break the codes to achieve a beautiful harmony.
