Label Boss and Jackie Knows Karate Head Honcho Hawkins drops his long awaited debut EP 'Okinawa'. A fast paced techno inspired 3 track selection which infuses Hawkins' fascinaton with old school breakbeat grooves as well as hard pounding techno kicks. Perfect for the darkest and sweatiest dancefloors 'Temple Dunt' is a prime example of the influence Hawkins takes from his local clubs of Subclub and La Cheetah with punchy rave stabs and a retro vocal hook sampling A.D.O.R's classic 'One for the Trouble' it kicks the club into full gear. Bradley Underground jumps on the EP and puts his spin on 'Temple Dunt' giving the track traditional 4x4 techno groove. The final track 'Funakoshi's Last Dance' continues the martial arts theme of the EP with Funakoshi being recognised as the founder of the artform of Karate. The track samples martial artist Bruce Lee and is a mellower affair focusing on ambient floaty pads rather than rave stabs.
