Eton Messy Records end 2020 with an almighty bang, thanks to this killer new single from Mona Vale.

The label's newest signing are also the the first fully fledged band to join the Bristol crew's extended fam - a clear indicator of the ambitions Ed and Charlie have for 2021 and beyond

Part idiosyncratic production outfit, part Indie-meets-Electronica live act - Mona Vale's forthcoming EP, 'Solis', is a sprawling and quite exceptional 4 track debut, due to land in its entirely, late Spring; but with each component part being lovingly drip-fed in the run-up.

Up first on the EP is 'Solis' itself, a track which begins life as a simple, breezy House loop, underpinned by deep, funk-flecked bass.....that is until a gated snare ushers in the track's true centrepiece upon 2 minutes - a dynamite duo of cut-up brass samples and synthetic horn sections, which when combined with the opening instrumental groove attack - results in a quite magical, yet fiercely effective dance-floor oddity. One that will be begging to be let out the traps, the very moment late night gatherings are a thing once more.

On the flip meanwhile, resides the title track's mischievous and more playful cousin - 'Maasai'; a record that beams with a sense of celebration, thanks to it's addictive smorgasbord of vocal samples; a soft, yet subtly warped organ lead; and some seriously seductive, staccato keys that dance aloft the second half in all their shimmering, electrified glory"

The final two parts of the EP will then follow in late Spring 2021...by which time we may even be lucky enough to witness the boys rinsing all four tracks on the live stage; and see for ourselves why the likes of Indie Shuffle, Mahogany and Cracks In The Road are all getting so excited by this unique and beguiling London duo.
