It's no easy feat to breakthrough in 2020, yet 25-year-old Effy has stamped herself as one of the most exciting members of the new school. 'Bodied' is her third original production of the year and is an ode to female sexual empowerment.

In little more than 18 months, Effy's captured the ears of ravers and industry alike, supporting Helena Hauff, Maya Jane Coles, Martyn and Scuba, the latter two whom she played alongside at her residency at London's E1. So evident was her innate talent that Scuba - a renowned tastemaker who has broken Mount Kimbie, George Fitzgerald and Or:la via his label Hotflush - signed her remix of his own track 'Never Forget' and stated, "Effy is going to have a big couple of years ahead of her. She's super talented."

Despite the absence of gigs, Effy's talent has shone through. Self-releasing 'Fluffy Clouds' and 'Ara', earlier this year, both of which enjoyed widespread BBC Radio 1 support, she's on a white-hot production streak which begun last Autumn when she delivered a classy remix of La Fleur's 'Aphelion' and continues through to her recent punchy re-rub of London indie band Franc Moody's 'Grin and Bear It'.

Her latest original offering is the brilliant 'Bodied'. Effy, who has held a residency on Rinse FM since March, crafts a dancefloor weapon that combines a tribal foundation with an infectious arpeggiated synth-line that rolls for days. Beyond sonics, the production is a powerful ode to female sexual liberation.
