Occasionally in A&R, a record comes up that makes you freeze and declare to yourself 'I will make sure I have the pleasure of introducing this artist to the world'. We had one of those moments just recently at Medium Rare Recordings. 19-year-old Australian SH Gemini has already more experience than many producers twice his age. In fact, it wouldn't be a fabrication to say he grew up making dance music. Planting the first seeds of production at 10 years old, it's a talent he's nurtured with care and patience. The intelligence and maturity of his debut release 'In Your Eyes' is outstanding. A heartbreaking vocal melody with a detuned tone and soul aching texture backed by swelling synth chords and a classic house rhythm. It's one of those tunes that will make the hairs on the back of your neck charge with electricity. Unique in its approach yet eerily familiar.
