UNITED by Giorgia Angiuli
'We are facing a huge worldwide emergency, it's not an easy moment but we need to be united, stay positive and be proactive', says Giorgia Angiuli about the current worldwide situation.
Giorgia Angiuli was born and raised in Italy and currently lives in Florence. Italy was one of the first countries hit by the virus, something which we all have to face at the moment and which now keeps populations all over the world locked down. As most of the borders are closed, it is more important than ever to stay connected to our loved ones and to keep our hearts open. Therefore she has come up with a very unique idea.
On the 24th of March 2020, the Italian live performer and multi-instrumentalist Giorgia Angiuli will launch a new open-source audio project with the aim of supporting the research against the spreading of the virus.
Via social networks, she has invited all the producers, sitting alone - in distance - in their studios to create something special together with her. In a statement, Giorgia Angiuli explains: 'Just because we have to keep distance, and can't meet each other, doesn't have to mean that we can't work together on a new project. I'll start recording some sounds and share my Ableton project with you. I call you all to add the other elements. It's an ambitious project and I am positive we'll make it together!'. The goal is to unite ALL TOGETHER to compose a track which shall first of all help us to carry on through these times with music, and also to help support the WHO and UN Fund Charity to fight SARS 2 - CoV. Everyone can participate and the final parts will be selected in a fair process by the artist herself.
