ACEN 015 is the first release of 2020 from All Centre founder DJ P, offering up two tracks that are distinct in their intensity but share a lighthearted production approach.

A side ‘Pbat’ uses a mournful organ to signal it’s beginning, with floating fx splaying across the stereo spectrum as the introduction drives forward. At the 1:50 mark the introductions suspense is broken, being overrun by gliding portamento synths and tear out drums whilst supporting chords slowly build around the tracks core. As the track steadily loops over more synths, fx and fuzzy repetitions of the phrase “Love me til I love you back ‘’ join in, forcing the track towards its eventual wind down.

B side ‘Things Can Only Get Worse’ deploys a skippy broken beat, with the tracks key motifs gathering around it’s snare patterns as a blown out sub convulses below. DJ P allows the track drums to drive forward confidently before they become untethered at the halfway mark, sliding into a call and response breakdown between the tracks synth parts.
