Musical polymath Marcus Kaes is a man of many talents. DJ, producer, A&R guy, label owner and event organizer, his infectious passion for electronic music of all kinds is evident in everything he does. Consistently eclectic, he returns this year with a monster of an tech-house stomper that comes in swinging like King Kong hanging angrily off the Empire State Building.
Do Bing, out today on Blackbird, is probably not an assertion that we should all abandon Google for Microsoft's rival search engine. Or perhaps it is, cunningly disguised as a crowd-pleasing club track that is a dead cert to set pulses racing. Whatever the meaning, it's awesome on the ear and definitely infectious. I'd hold on tight and stand by for some heavy dancefloor rotation if I were you.
If anthems were cake, this tune certainly represents a tasty, hefty slice that won't leave you craving second helpings. In fact, forget cake. Do Bing could be an entire three-course meal, the kind with a massive steak for the main course. Input from legendary German producer Manuel Schleis certainly hasn't done the tune any harm either. Renowned for working with and remixing big names from across the music industry's spectrum, including Paul van Dyk and Tiesto, Schleis nicely beefs up the beats, giving me the perfect opportunity to use another cow/music metaphor.
The obligatory, but never unnecessary, remix comes courtesy of Dominik de Leon. As one half of Jam X & De Leon and the other half of DuMonde his unquestionable dance pedigree lends even more pounds to an already heavyweight track.
