Blindetonation serve up another summer sizzler from French artist Sebastien Tex with big remixes by FKClub and Javi Redondo.
DJ and producer Tex brings all the rugged attitude you would expect of an artist on this DIY minded label. His punky disco is visceral and vital and comes on esteemed labels like Correspondant and La Belle Records as well as this one.
First up here is the super title track, a snaking bit of spooky dark disco with a hypnotic lead line. Tension builds around the slap-funk drums and moody bass and the whole thing is sure to get the floor to erupt.
Remixing is FKClub, a skilled drummer, DJ and producer who makes mental yet visceral music that draws on anything from rock to acid. His take on 'Mouniche' has stiff bass stabs and sic- fi effects making it a turbulent cosmic groover.
Next is 'The Struggles of Life', a terrific track wired up with sinewy electronics and percolating bass. Big guitar riffs bring the menace and once the drums drop again this is a rock-tinged disco gem.
Madrid's Javi Redondo is a key player in the Spanish scene who now tours all over Europe with his genre defying sounds. He reworks it into something more urgent, with pumping drums and drunken synths tumbling down the scales to bring a brilliantly off balance feel.
Once more this is a superb package of forward looking club chuggers from Blindetonation.
