Axtone are pleased to finally welcome true legends Chocolate Puma for their debut single release on the label, collaborating with another debutant, Chinese rising star CARTA.
Chocolate Puma are a Dutch DJ/Producer duo consisting of René ter Horst and Gaston Steenkist aka Dj Zki & Dobre. They are two of Holland’s most celebrated producers, with a career spanning 27 years, 400+ releases and countless remixes under their various guises.
CARTA is an upcoming DJ whose sounds are influenced largely by Swedish House Mafia and many of the progressive house icons of the decade. CARTA has quickly established himself as the frontrunner of electronic musical talent from China. Born of Italian and Chinese ethnicity in Hong Kong, he later spent many years in the UK honing his electric sound.
“重 (Zhong)” is roughly translated as “is there anyone out there who’s into heavy bass” and judging by the reactions on dancefloors, the track has been uniting kindred spirits across the globe who are indeed, into heavy bass.
Early supporters have included Alesso and Tiesto with Axtone bossman Axwell featuring on his Minimix for Annie Mac on Radio 1.
