Welcoming the extremely talented producer Tom Baker, with his sophomore release on RC, titled Blueprint.
Words from the man himself. 'Over the past couple of years, I have found myself gradually turning into a perfectionist with my music writing. Slowly tweaking and adjusting minor details for months until I can no longer see room for improvement. It feels like a curse sometimes, but when tracks are finalised I'm glad I stress over the little things'. And so are we !
Blueprint. Started in 2016, the title track brings a huge amount of energy, originally though that wasn't the case as there have been many versions re created over the past few years. Solid in its foundation, deep driving elements carry the track from start to finish. Hints of melodic synth parts are then trickled on top, which sets a great tone for the rest of the release. 'Playing this to crowds has seen nothing but a roaring response, immediately setting things off from the initial drop'.
As we move into the next composition we find ourselves being taken on a journey, A Fleeting Moment is really something special. There a very few words we can use to describe Tom's ability to keep you on the edge of your seat through this entire breakdown but a true testament to him as a producer. 'Once it was written there was no way I was cutting it back, I loved it the way it was'.
Closing things out a with beautiful melodic piece, Signs In Myself. A combination of all qualities that are found throughout this release; Balance, melodic elements, groove and deep low end fundamentals. So many layers all blended together to please your senses.
'Making music for me offers a place of comfort, where I can feel I'm doing something productive with my time and create something that I will get to keep as my own forever'.
Years in the making this 3 track EP has been a culmination of lessons learned, new methods applied and exceptional knowledge of balance within each composition. No doubt in our minds this EP will resonate with our listeners as much as it has within the walls of the Recovery Collective team.
