Dijon in France is the home of the techno focused A-TRACTION records, a label with an eclectic back catalogue that includes music from Arnaud Le Texier, Traumer aka Roman Poncet, Madben, DJ Hell, and Dima aka Vitalic amongst others.
David Asko a regular to the label, returns with original material following appearances on imprints such as Variance and Drum Tunnel with a distinct driving and rolling sound.
Oliver Deutschmann supplies the first remix here and shows why his much loved productions appear on labels such as Hotflush, Innervisons, OFF Recordings, and Mote Evolver.
The second remix is by Darzack, also from France he has released on Parisian label La Brique, and makes his debut to A-TRACTION in some style.
"69000" kicks things off with a chunky and sparse beat that slowly introduces a killer synth drone to increase the tension. High end notes add more melody to this classy peak time DJ must-have.
Oliver Deutschmann adds a new angle with his remix of "69000" picking up the tempo and injecting a new jackin' energy to heat up the standout melodic hook from the original.
The second original from David Asko titled "76000" goes for a straight pounding intro to set the scene, then adding some impatient metallic notes create a perfect storm of function and haunting atmosphere.
Newcomer Darzack completes the EP with his tough and thundering remix. Tribal toms and eccentric drum work lead the way before the rave influenced euphoric break take hold with luscious deep vibes, making it an outstanding piece of club weaponry.
