A1: Sommerblatt (8:15) The Mindshake single that has summer hit written all over it. This groover starts with nice open air breezy chimes and percussion before the energy level quickly picks up and sweeps the dancefloor into an ecstatic rush. The summer vibes are made complete through the use of expertly placed horn samples and enchanting vocal phrases that tease in and out of the mix. Expect to hear this one this summer.a lot. B1: 1989 (6:54) Paying homage to the year in its title, the throwback sounds are a bit chunkier and loose, but tightened up enough to sit comfortably in a contemporary set. The looped 'Don't Even Want to Try' sample slowly builds into the first big breakdown where mutated and matured piano rave stabs emerge and then carry the track to its peak time destiny. B2: Sinister (7:36) With just a hint of darkness, this tension laced track will provide a hypnotic backbone to any discerning Djs set. Primed to keep both the heads and the party people on the dancefloor, this slow burner is deadly in the right hands. The sporadic screaming howl may be a standout, but the layered techy grooves and intricate percussion set the appropriate framework for the track to shine. Digital Exclusive: Nuon (7:16) A prime example of Mediterranean techno, this digital exclusive is a percussive tool with plenty of character. A ghostly vocal chant, sits above the mix while a heavy bassline, psychoacoustic snares, and wet claps propel the track forward, eventually transitioning into darker territory. Sprinkled throughout are sound design artifacts sweeping across the soundscape keeping the listener guessing, as the track slowly regains its lighter feel, with or without the listener's sanity intact.
