Down (8:54)
With actual bated breath and gasps within the lead track, the new John Lagora EP is picks right up where his first 'Contrast' EP left off. Like all great Mindshake releases, 'Down' is inherently about the proper use of tension and release within the track's structure. A 'Gotta Get Down' vox sample assimilates the listener into Lagora's techno soundscape while a creeping acid vibe scratches at the surface until midway when the acid undertones crescendo into an echo chamber. The track resumes its all out assault on the senses with perfectly timed drops and effects that keep the energy level high. A prime time tool that is deadly in the most capable hands.
Maersk (8:14)
Bursting out the gates, the uptempo 'Maersk' is pure party vibes. Emphasized by a grooving, rolling bassline and hypnotic vocal loops, the atmosphere this track creates is ecstatic. If your dancefloor is jamming and you need to take them even higher, Maersk will do just that with perfectly timed breakdowns and bass cuts.
Dink (7:20)
Hypnotic female vocal loops and a hollow kick drum open the proceedings. Multiple layers of intricate percussion drop in and out providing a tropical tech framework that will make this track compatible with the Cadenza and Desolat crowd but with an even tougher techno backbone. Add in a turntable power kill drop and some subtle Detroit-flavored synth stabs and you have all of the makings of an Ibiza crowd pleaser.
Down (Ramon Tapia Remix) (8:08)
Making his Mindshake label debut is Dutchman and Great Stuff recording artist Ramon Tapia. Ramon brings the 'Gotta Get Down' vocal to the forefront and adds a funky swagger with his remix. Additional bells and woodblock styled percussion lighten the proceedings while his trademark high-octane minimal tech bounce creates an immediate party vibe.
