We welcome G Spice to Piston Recordings with his debut cut titled Higher Ground EP. An intense relationship with sound and a drive to share energy through music was the reason G Spice got into DJing. He started spinning in the early 90's performing at raves, festivals and clubs around Greece, influenced by the acid house revolution. The years that followed found him maintaining a residency at D.N.A and Groove box club as well as performing with international jocks like Alex Neri, Antoine Clamaran, Quiver and Matthias Heilbronn. Entering the new millennium, G spice releasing tracks on labels like Large, King St, Sanity, Dutchie and Deep Class records, getting big support from the likes of Carl Cox, Tedd Patterson and DJ Spen. Nowadays he divides his time between studio work and gigs including places like Miami, Shanghai, Stockholm, Los Angeles ,Prague and Barcelona as well as running his label Fly In A Jam Records.

Taking house music to cosmic levels, Higher Ground is a beautifully constructed slice that will creep deep into your soul, moving your body in tandem with the infectious groove. A tight drum section leads the way as swirling pads and FX layer up. On the low end the bassline meanders through the sound, creating a smooth, warm groove. The attention to detail is sublime, subtle sounds stack up against more rigid tones delivering a truly dynamic slice which makes this one a definite must have.

Reflex carries a real nice, upbeat party vibe that will translate easily to the floors. Superb dancey beats made up of chunky kick drums and shuffling hi hats will get us on the move for sure. Cool FX sweep through as equally cool melodic notes fade in. A smooth and groovy bassline creates depth and soul as high strings and harmonic keys take us higher.
