EDICIONES DANZA NEGRA

Ediciones Danza Negra is an effort to conjure the sounds of Colombian and Latin American dance floors. This imprint champions artists and pursues a conversation with the foreign minds that influence them. Traditional Colombian music, in all its diversity and beauty, is not visible and known beyond the frontiers of music searched by tropical dancers. Salsa, Bambuco, Vallenato and Currulao among many others are well-represented genres in record stores the world over. However, that is just half of the picture.
As cities like Medellín and Bogotá continue to diversify, the Colombian music scope keeps expanding. Since the late 90s, local DJs and producers have redefined House, Techno, Drum ‘N’ Bass among others genres found in electronic music in the underground circuit. This also happens within many electronic music scenes in Latin America.
We want to display those explorations. Ediciones Danza Negra aims to help broaden and strengthen the reach of these new sounds emerging from the Colombian and LATAM underground.
