THE URGENCY OF CHANGE
The Urgency Of Change is a love child, independant record label which has set out to forge physical projects for a world that's lost its way, and compulsively can't stop looking away.
Having learned and thrived as the result of exploring 20th century physical objects in the 21st century, built it's own synthesizers, restored it's own open reel tape deck, salvaged a TR-606 which was given up for dead, and remastered the art of live improvisational electronic music, TUOC have now begun to finally explore the world of digital expeditions.
It seems like many DJ's don't actively want vinyl, it's heavy and often the clubs don't even have turntables installed.
Now that they have met their audience and given then a 12" single, an 80 minute healing CD, a 42 minute documentary and a full length vinyl LP (all sold out, sorry) now it's time to assemble and compile WAV format DJ mixes for club play, and remixes which beneift the remixers, and an effort to reconnect with the heads who loved us right in the first place.
Always a limited edition, always deeply personal and viciously loving, The Urgency Of Change hope to make their digital extrapolations as precious and rare as their empty shelves where they were once hundreds of DVD's and thousands of records. Until we look up from our little newspeak machines, and wake from the horrible dream of a future completely alone together, we will be touring, performing, pressing record on the open reel, and banging the drum for a deeper love, and a louder truth, and dancing wildly with our own broken hearts.
