From Phoenix, Arizona by way of Detroit, Beaty Boy Records is the imprint founded by Steve "DJ Energy" Crawford, an influential 'street DJ' from the early days of the Detroit techno and house music scene alongside the likes of The Wizard (aka Jeff Mills), Gary Chandler, Ken Collier, and Terrence Parker. Beaty Boy reflects those old school street jock sounds, running from deep, disco-y and soulful to stripped down and funky electronic.
