Outsider Music was founded by acclaimed, DC-based singer/songwriter, producer and remixer Rich Morel (Morel/BLOWOFF/Deathfix) as a partnership with NY-based imprint KID Recordings. Morel is perhaps best known for his collaborations with Grammy Award winning house music pioneers Deep Dish ("Stranded," "Mohammed is Jesus" and "Sacramento") and for his eponymous band's international club hits "True", "Cabaret" and "Under A Disco". He's enjoyed a successful 20+ year career as a versatile producer, songwriter/collaborator and remixer crafting records for an impressive list of artists including Cyndi Lauper, Pet Shop Boys, Madonna, New Order, Depeche Mode, Yoko Ono, The Killers, Mariah Carey, Lenny Kravitz, Scissor Sisters, Neneh Cherry, Lily Allen and Bob Mould and, to date, he's had over 30 #1 singles on Billboard's Hot Dance Club Play Chart. Most recently, Rich received rave reviews as the co-writer of "The Sex Is In The Heel" from the Tony Award winning musical "Kinky Boots" (with Cyndi Lauper) and for the self-titled debut from his indie/alt-rock "supergroup" Deathfix (with Brendan Canty of Fugazi) on seminal punk imprint Dischord.
