With influences ranging from disco to funk, UKG, and of course, house, Chicago-based DJ Monty Kiddo has become a well-respected and sought-after name in the city's house music scene. Coming from a household that regularly played country legends like Garth Brooks & Tim McGraw, Monty diverted on his own musical journey & discovered the sounds of disco, funk, & UK garage which would later influence his unique style of house music. While he's been producing and DJing since 2017, Monty only recently got involved in the local scene and began playing live shows in 2021. Getting billed as his legal name Cody Kirby, the skill and passion for the craft was evident. His infectious energy and vibe curation quickly earned him bookings supporting industry pioneers such as Chromeo & SG Lewis. Sensing an opportunity to grow with newfound knowledge & experience, Monty Kiddo was born. A new moniker with the same energy and infectious sound. Monty Kiddo has quickly surged up as one of Chicago's premier music selectors as he has been seen sharing stages with industry heavy weights such as ANOTR, LF System, PRUNK, Jungle and more. With his debut release dropping in November of this year, Monty Kiddo is a name to look out for heading into 2024.
