RICHIE DIO

Music has always been a passion for Richie Dio since the age of six, when he began his musical instrument training in piano, drums and percussion. Since then, his music performance has taken many forms over the years, from orchestras to jazz and rock bands, as well as including the beginning of his DJ'ing in 1992. Richie was inspired by the sounds of progressive, tribal and garage house, and a trip to London in the mid-1990s, where he found himself immersed in the sounds of the London underground, further catapulted his interest in house music. His movement into music production was a natural outgrowth of his many years of musical training and inspired in large part by his cousin, Grammy and Emmy-nominated songwriter and former American Idol Judge. Throughout the years, Richie Dio has brought his passion and talent as a DJ behind the decks at several iconic NYC nightclubs, including Limelight, Tunnel, Pacha and Cielo. The music comprising his productions incorporate plenty of driving drums and percussion, immersive melodies, chord progressions and vocals within the umbrella of house music and traversing the sub-genres of Afro House, Tech House, Melodic House, Deep House, all speaking to his versatility and love for the many shades of dance music.
