KOSMO KINT
Kosmo Kint's sound fuses the grit and soul of his native New York with the heady, free-spiritedness of Berlin's house scene. A purveyor of soulful electronic cuts, he weaves a between uplifting disco and house to American R&B, soul, and hip hop. Following 2023's debut LP Groove Religion - which earned a double-page spread in Berliner Zeitung, one of Germany's largest newspapers - prominent labels have been snapping up records from the vocalist, songwriter and live performer. He's cementing his place in the scene with releases like 'Love Songs' - a collab with British duo Prospa on Circoloco Records - hitting 3 million Spotify streams in just 4 weeks, holding the No. 1 spot in another download site's overall Top 100 and House charts, entering Radio 1's Playlist + Dance playlist and being Danny Howard's Hottest Record on Radio 1's Dance Party.
Born to Trinidadian parents in New York, he grew up surrounded by the rhythm and cultural vibrancy of Carroll street, Brooklyn. With his grandfather being one of the pioneers of the steel pan, Kint has been tapped into music from day one. He'd attend New York's prestigious Professional Performing Arts School, followed by studying at Boston's New England Conservatory where he'd train as an opera singer until the age of 21. Early in his career as supporting vocalist he was up there with bonafide icons - from Elton John to Alicia Keys and Wynton Marsalis.
Intrigued by Berlin's creative melting pot, he made the permanent move in 2016, quickly realising what people meant when they said it was his city. Connecting with other creatives, he'd write for Grammy award winning producers Michael Malih and David Morales, and collaborate with a slew of producers from Jerome Sydenham to Atjazz, Andres, COEO and Kai Alcé. No matter who he joins forces with, his approach is to fully surrender himself to the lyrics and mood of the instrumental canvas. Finding inspiration through positivity, and storytelling in his lyrics, he harnesses the power to turn any challenge, pain or hurt into a musical lesson his listeners can apply to themselves for empowerment.
Most recently, Kint teamed up with newly-formed duo NIGHT manoeuvres (ABSOLUTE. and Dot Major of London Grammar) for 'This Life' on fabric Records. His soulful delivery added new depth to the pair's output, marking another turn in Kint's evolution as collaborator and frontman. A busy spell in London, bouncing between Three Six Zero Studios, The Armada Studios, 160DL Studios and W1 Studios, fans are to expect a stack of new records with notable artists to land in 2026. With live shows also part of the picture - including a debut performance at London's iconic fabric - his world of groove, soul, and underground energy continues to expand.
