STEPHEN MCCLEERY

Stephen McCleery has been able to play piano by ear for as long as he can remember, working out how to play ‘Silent Night’ when he was barely able to reach the keys on his Dad’s piano. Now best known as his brother Jono McCleery’s keyboard player, he is also celebrated for his Fender Rhodes playing with the Part Time Heroes with whom he recorded a a live session for Gilles Peterson’s BBC Radio 1 show and performed on the main stage at The Big Chill Festival.

Quotes about McCleery’s improvised solo piano compositions…

"If I write just one tune that makes me feel like 'Dreaming' I will rest content. Thank you for that beguiling tune” — Eska, Zero 7

“Floats us through the dreamlike nature of the sleeping state, something we are normally left grasping for” — Lucy Kitchen

"Magical. Unique. Feels like floating" — Laura Vane, The Streets
