BAL 5000

BAL 5000 started out djing in the mid nineties as a teenager. Back then he was concentrating on the newly rising drum and bass sound, spinning records by Wax Doctor, Source Direct, Photek, Alex Reese - and all of the pioneers of the new school 'drum' sound. Around the mid 00's he released a few drum and bass records as 'Bal', but as time went by, somehow he kinda felt lost in the world of the broken beats. Thats when he saw French legend Pepe Bradock dj in a small club in Budapest, wich was a big turning point in his life. From then he started concentrating on the 'odd' side of house and techno, disco and funk. He also began making his own house beats. His music is influenced from Blues to Kosmische Musik, old school Drum and Bass to Indie rock, old detective movies and novels - you name it. His wide range of influences is probably the reason why his style is hard to pigenhole, but with his own words: 'its retro futuristic spaced out house mixed with lost in the desert pscychedelia".
