Derby based Carlos Van D has been a DJ since 1998. Music heavily influenced his early years listening to 70's Disco, Soul and 80's pop before falling in love with House Music in the 90's. In 1998 Carlos Van D started his first Saturday night residency in Derby at a pre-club bar, where the majority of customers left on the free bus at 10pm.
Carlos Van D spent the next 23 years playing parties and weddings whilst holding residencies in various pubs & clubs in Derby and Nottingham.
Carlos Van D enjoys producing his own tracks and has had releases on Doorly's Reptile Dysfunction label. He has ongoing projects and is looking to release more in 2022
In 2007 Carlos Van D found his passion was radio and joined Idealclubworld Radio where he held a long running Funk & Soulful House show called Funkicide. As he enjoyed the whole live broadcasting vibe, he decided to start his own Visual radio station called The Chewb where he and the other founders broadcasted DJ's on their platform from all over the world.
Carlos Van D and his radio colleagues have hosted and played successful parties at The Amsterdam Dance Event for 3 years running and he has also had the pleasure of DJ'ing in Amsterdam, Dubai, India and Thailand.
As technology moved on and it became easier for everyone to live stream from their homes, the decision was made to close down The Chewb and take a break.
You can now find Carlos Van D DJ'ing in various Bars and Clubs in Birmingham and the midlands.
