ROSS COUCH

With a seemingly insatiable appetite for producing what DJ Magazine once described as, "Astounding, uncategorizable house tracks," Ross Couch has crafted an enviably consistent catalogue of memorable music over the past two decades.

Born in Glasgow, Scotland, a long recognised hotspot within the dance music community, it’s little wonder that Ross became seduced by the rapidly evolving sound of house and techno in the early 90′s, and quickly became involved in producing his own material.

His early work between 2001-2006 came out on vinyl through a series of respected labels like Bargrooves, Siesta Music, Kinky Vinyl, Red Melon and Blaxtrax and was met with critical acclaim.

However, since 2007 he's gone from strength-to-strength on his own Body Rhythm label, where he's now put out over 150 releases while demonstrating his uncanny knack for keeping the quality control permanently set to high as he weaves his own unique, musical brand of deep, emotive and soulful house music.

Along the way his music's been played by many of house's founding fathers, like Louie Vega, Joey Negro, Marshall Jefferson, Laurent Garnier, Mousse T, Pete Tong and Carl Cox, along with modern-day tastemakers like Jimpster, The Magician, Detroit Swindle, Opolopo, Rasmus Faber, Shur-I-Kan and many more.

Over the years he's enjoyed success on Traxsource with numerous Top 10's spanning across multiple genres, including 'Somebody Like You', one of his best sellers on the site to date, which went on to be selected by Mixmag on their list of 70 tracks that define deep house, while in 2022, 'Jazz Session' reached No.1 on the Deep House chart and spent a month in the overall Top 10.

Beyond his own Body Rhythm imprint, Ross has remixed for dozens of artists, including the likes of Joey Negro & The Sunburst band, Rasmus Faber, Barbara Tucker, Shur-I-Kan, Richard Earnshaw and many more, featured on compilations by major players like Ministry Of Sound, Bargrooves, Cafe Del Mar and he recently signed a track to one of the world's biggest labels, Toolroom Records.
