After the release of his well-received full-length 'Versions' earlier this year, Joshua Iz returns with 5 brand new tracks for the 'Please Wake Up' EP.

The title track 'Please Wake Up' has already been receiving some early buzz as a summer 2018 superjam so we're excited to share this with all of you. Featuring some poignant and timely calls-to-action, 'Please Wake Up' imparts people to do just that in these trying times.

We could go into detail about each of the tracks but no one reads that stuff anyway and its best if you just listen for yourself.

For those still reading, here is something you can use for summer:

Joshua's Tomatillo Salsa Recipe (super easy and delicious)

Most tomatillo salsa recipes will have you roast the tomatillos but this one keeps them uncooked which adds a freshness to the recipe. Adding a single avocado gives the salsa a bit of creaminess.

This recipe is dead simple: just throw everything into your blender/food processor and enjoy with your favorite tortilla chips.

Start to finish: about 10 minutes. Vegan.

8-12 tomatillos; skins removed and rinsed
1 ripe avocado
1 large Vidalia sweet onion
1 large bunch cilantro/corriander
1 lime
2-7 serrano peppers
salt
freshly ground pepper
salted tortilla chips

Optional: agave nectar. If tomatillos are not in season, adding a tablespoon of agave nectar will round out the tartness.

Equipment: blender or food processor.

Remove the tomatillo skins, place tomatillos in a bowl and rinse well under cold water.

Chop tomatillos into quarters; place in blender/food processor.

Cut open avocado and scoop out all of the flesh into the blender/food processor.

Chop onion into 1-inch pieces, place in blender/food processor.

Rinse cilantro thoroughly, chop off leaves and place in blender/food processor.

Add salt, pepper and juice from 1 lime. If you have salt and pepper grinders, it's about 10-15 turns of each. Really you just want the salt and lime to be balanced - it shouldn't taste overly salty nor overly lime-y.

Run your blender or food processor until everything is mashed and blended and it is a bit creamy with the avocado.

Taste with a chip to see if the lime and salt are balanced and adjust as necessary with more salt or more lime.

Once everything is balanced, add your serrano peppers and blend/pulse until fully incorporated. The number of peppers is up to you but 5 will be pretty hot. 2-3 is a good amount for medium and one is good if you are a weak child with no intestinal fortitude.

Great with an ice-cold Pacifico. Enjoy!
